Scoot and Brandon Miller were projected to be the number 2 and the number 3 picks at the 2023 NBA Draft as happened, but no one was sure which would be picked ahead of them.
Charlotte Hornets picked Miller 2nd, so that left Portland with Scoot. Henderson will be part of a very young team, including last season’s 7th overall pick, Shaedon Sharpe, and the guard Anfernee Simons who is 24 years old.
Scoot played for the last 2 years in the G League, as he scored almost 17 points per game. He also had more than 5 boards and 6 assists per match in 19 clashes in the past campaign.
Portland is led by superstar Damian Lillard, whose name is speculated about a trade. The chances of that happening now are very high as the franchise can decide to cash on his value as they had at the moment young core that can’t compete for the championship.
