Seattle Seahawks boss Mike Macdonald revealed today that he “fully expects” rookie nickelback Nick Emmanwori to be on the field in Super Bowl LX despite problems with his ankle.
Mike shared that Nick sustained a low ankle sprain when he rolled it late during training yesterday. The manager wasn’t sure how much, if at all, the rookie would train today.
“But he will be ready for Sunday,” the Seahawks head coach claimed. “We just want to be careful so he can be at his best when he needs him the most in the Super Bowl.”
Seattle will face the Patriots at the end of the weekend at Levi’s Stadium for the title.
“I’m just surprised that this happened,” Emmanwori revealed about his injury scare. “The training wasn’t intense, but I rolled. I will be alright to be on the field in the SB and can’t wait for the match.”
Nick, a 2nd-round draft selection out of South Carolina, injured the same ankle on 1st series of Seattle’s campaign opener, sidelining him for the rest of that match and the next 3. After his return, Emmanwori is a key player in his team’s defense.
