La Liga team Sevilla have sacked manager Diego Alonso just 9 weeks after he has been hired.
The boss was appointed on October 10th but failed to triumph in a match both in La Liga and in the Champions League.
The Spanish side took home a record-extending 7th Europa League in the past campaign under Jose Luis Mendilibar – who the Uruguayan replaced – but finished in the last place in his UCL group. The team will no longer play in Europe.

Diego’s single victory came in the Copa del Rey vs. lower-league opponent.
Sevilla shared that Alonso is fired after today’s 3-0 loss against Getafe, with sporting director Victor Orta admitting that the results are awful and it was not easy to take this decision, but things must improve.
Alonso was the team’s 4th head coach since October last year and leaves the club 16th in the league after 3 losses and 5 draws in his 8 La Liga matches in charge.
