Jason Robertson’s 39th goal of the season came early in the third period and gave Dallas a three goal cushion.
Jamie Benn scored a goal and had two assists; Miro Heisknaen added three assists to his name. Evgenii Dadonov, Joe Pavelski and Wyatt Johnston also scored for Dallas. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 26 saves.
This was Dallas’s 6th win out of their last 7 games and that means they keep 3-points lead over Minnesota with 15-games left to play.
“It was an important four points. You look at the standings and we’re in a fight for first in the division, first in the conference. They’re in a battle for playoff positioning. They’ve been playing great all year,” Dallas coach Peter DeBoer said. “So this was a real test for us coming in here for two games and I thought our group really responded.”
Seattle lose for the 5th time out of their last six games. While they still look strong to go to the playoffs, Kraken’s poor run of form might drop them out of the top 3 contenders in the Pacific Division for the postseason.
“We’ve been a group that’s been able to turn the page and go back to the next job at hand,” Seattle coach Dave Hakstol said. “This group has to be able to do that again.”
Next on the road for the Stars is a visit to Vancouver on Tuesday night, while Seattle go to San Jose on Thursday night
