The Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday night and now trail only 3-2 in the overall result.
Ty Dellandrea notched the all-important two goals in the 3rd period that secured Dallas the victory and keep their Stanley Cup final chances alive.
Luke Glendening and Jaosn Robertson also scored for Dallas, who will try to become the 5th team in NHL history to erase a 3-0 lead in the playoff match-up.
“I know our group, and we weren’t happy about being in the hole we were in, and they decided to do something about it,” Stars coach Pete DeBoer said. “And now we’re rolling.”
For Vegas Chandler Stephenson scored and Ivan Barbashev added another one. Jonathan Marchessault had two assists to extend his point streak to four games. However, it was a thoroughly disappointing game for the Stars, who will be desperate to clinch the series as soon as possible.
