Stephen’s deal expired after yesterday’s friendly draw against New Zealand.
It was an anticipated move after the head coach failed to qualify Ireland for the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany. He became the nation’s boss in the spring of 2020 when he replaced Mick McCarthy, but Kenny shared yesterday that he did not expect to receive a new offer to stay as a manager.
While the football association in the country understands that the country’s group was very difficult with France and the Netherlands in it, the thing that convinced them to look for a new head coach is that Ireland lost twice to Greece.
