Lance Stroll has expressed his joy in working with his new teammate Fernando Alonso so far this season.
The Spaniard joined Aston Martin in the winter and is enjoying one of his most productive campaigns in recent years, having bagged 75 points in the opening 5 races.
Aston Martin has also scored 102 points and are second behind only Red Bull – a major step forward for the green cars in comparison to previous years.
Speaking of his relationship with the double-world champion Stroll commented:
“I definitely enjoy working alongside him. He’s incredibly talented, knowledgeable, experienced, and hungry to get the most out of himself every day. I have a huge amount of respect for him, because he’s been doing that for a long time.”
“He’s been at the top of his game for… how many years has he been in F1 now? Like, I don’t know, more than 20 years? So, I think just to see that determination and focus and motivation every day, I have a lot of respect for that.”
Alonso has tested the champagne on four out of five races this season, while Stroll is yet to step on the podium. He will be fully motivated to achieve that as he admitted that it is his main target.
