The only goal in the game was scored in the 61st minute when Nordi Mukiele shot from a distance after a reflection that the ball ended in Antonin Kinsky’s net, and the home side took the lead that kept until the end of the match.
The extra time of the clash was 11 minutes, but Spurs failed to secure a great chance to tie the result and lost in De Zerbi’s debut.
Sunderland are in 10th place in the EPL after 3 wins in their last 4 matches, while Tottenham are in the relegation zone and have lost 4 of their last 5 games in the league.
