Hours after a 1st-round postseason sweep ended a disappointing Phoenix Suns campaign that started with championship ambitions, Phoenix owner Mat Ishbia declined to reveal whether the franchise would retain manager Frank Vogel next campaign.
Mat also declined to offer support for the head coach, who, just days ago, shared with the media that he has the owner “full support” and that he is certain that he will be at the helm of the Suns next season as he inked a 5-year, 31 million dollar contract in the past summer.
Ishbia, who bought the team in February 2023, made his remarks today during an end-of-campaign press conference at the Footprint Center, several days after Phoenix was swept on their venue by the Timberwolves.
The organization’s GM, James Jones, also talked about the hot topic today.
“Our front office is going to evaluate everything,” the Suns owner claimed. “… Everything is on the table for discussion. We will begin to do it soon.”
