The Ukrainian triumphed in the 1st set after many breaks as she converted 3 and won 7-5 after allowing her opponent to break her serve 2 times.
In the 2nd set, both Elina and Iga won 1 opponent’s serve, and the set reached a tiebreak. The world number 1 showed better nerves and won it 7-6 (5) to tie the clash.
However, nothing like that happened when everyone expected that the Polish would easily win the deciding set. Elina dominated as the player from Ukraine converted 2 breaks from 5 chances and won the set 6-2 as she didn’t allow any break chances to Swiatek.

Elina Svitolina on Iga Swiatek:
“Iga is not only a great champion, she’s an unbelievable person. She was 1 of the first ones that really helped Ukrainian people. It was a huge help for Ukraine. It’s not easy to play someone you share lots of good moments with.” 🥹 pic.twitter.com/KVxvcNXqxY
