The Polish had a 5-1 lead when Lesya decided to abandon the match as she had a medical timeout before that and tried to continue, but she saw that it would not be possible.
Swiatek continues with her dominance in the French Open and has yet to lose a set as she regularly wins sets 6-0 in the Big Slam in France. Iga already eliminated Bucsa, Liu, and Tsurenko.
The world number 1 will face the American world number 6, Coco Gauff, as this can be the 1st real challenge for Swiatek at the French Open.
4/5 – Iga Swiatek is the first female player to make 4+ quarterfinals at the Roland-Garros in her first five main draw appearances at the event since Monica Seles (5/5, in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1996). Home.#RolandGarros | @rolandgarros @WTA @WTA_insider pic.twitter.com/msI0NG6sWK
