Iga won the 1st set 6-2 after breaking her opponent’s serve 3 times as the world number 1 converted 3 break points from 3 available. The 2nd set was equal as it lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes. After 1 break from each, they played a tiebreak, and Swiatek won it 9-7 and got the victory.
The Polish will face world number 43 Karolina Muchova in the final on Saturday on Roland-Garros as no matter which will win the trophy, Iga will remain the world number 1 next week.
