“Our information at that time is that it will be pretty serious, and I’ll wait to know the final results,” manager Todd Bowles shared after the joint practice with the NY Jets.
The WR suffered a noncontact injury during backpedaling drills. He was seen crying when he was carted off, with his teammates kneeling around him.
“I know by the way he was sitting on the truck that it would be a very serious problem,” Bucs’ head coach shared. “We hope he will be fine as soon as possible and wish him health.”
During his time in Tampa Bay, Russell has been dealing with many injuries. He had a hamstring strain during the offseason and early in the training camp but had been fully training with his teammates for almost 10 days.
The WR took a pay cut to remain with the Floridian NFL organization for the upcoming season.
