The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will cut LB Shaquil Barrett.
Buccaneers are releasing two-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett, per sources.

The linebacker had a 15 million dollar option bonus due to in March and will be a salary cap charge of almost 14 million dollars for this year. Shaquil shared with the media on January that he wants to remain with the organization but he also knowns “it’s a business” and that could mean that Tampa Bay could release him.
Shaquil was a 2-time Pro Bowler during his 5 campaigns with Tampa Bay and a crucial figure in the Bucs’ championship-winning defense in 2020, having 3 sacks vs. Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game and another sack vs. Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.
An undrafted free agent out of Colorado State in 2015, the linebacker has 59 career sacks in 9 years with Tampa Bay and Denver. Barrett led the National Football League with an organization-record almost 20 sacks in 2019, his debut campaign with the Buccaneers.
