Coach Brian Daboll announced the news, stating that veteran Tyrod Taylor will be making the starting lineup.
The 34-year-old will make his fourth start of the season Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams (8-7) at MetLife Stadium.
DeVito was on a six consecutive games as a starter, leading New York to three straight games. However, the Giants were beaten by the Saints in New Orleans on Dec. 17 and then had their playoff hopes extinguished on Monday in a 33-25 loss to the Eagles.
That may partly explain the reason why Daboll is opting for Taylor, who has hit 66 of 107 passes for 725 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
