Erik ten Hag insisted after the 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford by Manchester City that his Manchester United is improving. The defeat left Ten Haag’s side in eighth place in the Premier League, with five wins and five defeats in the first 10 games of the Premier League season.
“In the three games before we won and the spirit is very good, the fighting spirit is very good. So, yes, I think we are going up,” said Ten Hag.
“It was a tough start to the season but we are on the up. We have some injured players coming back and I’m sure our team will be stronger. We have to stay patient but I’m happy that some of the injured are coming back. When you lose a derby the way we did, it’s disappointing. In the first half we had a very good game plan and the execution was very good. It was level but the penalty changed that,” Ten Hag added.
