OKC supporters received everything that they had dreamed about today – a ring ceremony, a championship banner unveiling, and a triumph vs. former-Thunder leader Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning MVP, scored 2 free throws 2.3 seconds before the end of the 2nd OT to give the Thunder a 1250124 victory. Shai had notched only 5 points at halftime, but ended the match with 35.
OKC GETS THE STOP.
THEY WIN AN INSTANT CLASSIC.

Kevin fouled the reigning MVP with Houston leading 124-123 in the 2nd extra period. The fans at the venue were very happy as Durant exited the match after receiving his 6th personal foul. The Oklahoma City superstar converted both free throws for the triumph of his team. Rocket’s Jabari Smith Jr. missed a 19-foot jumper as he tried to give the victory for his team with the final shot in the game, and Oklahoma City survived the campaign opener for both organizations.
OKC supporters still hate Durant for choosing to leave the team to sign with the Golden State Warriors in 2016. Kevin finished with 23 points and 9 boards in his 1st match with the Rockets after being traded in the summer.
Chet Holmgren scored 28 points and grabbed 7 boards for Oklahoma City.
