The Oklahoma City Thunder secured its place in the playoffs.
But simply returning to the postseason after last campaign’s heartbreaking defeat against the Mavs in 6 matches in the West Conference ½ finals is nothing that the team is satisfied with. The focus for OKC is to triumph with its 1st ever NBA title.
That’s why, more importantly for the franchise, they defeated the defending champ, the Celtics, in Boston.

That was the Thunder’s 2nd victory against the Celtics in 2 matches in the current campaign and was a message from Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates that they want the championship.
“It is phenomenal,” shared Shai of the 118-112 victory after scoring 34 points, grabbing 5 boards, and providing 7 assists for almost 40 minutes on the court. “Because Boston had achieved what our team wants the most, and that’s winning the title, and that was our biggest test to see how far we can dream to go.”
Gilgeous-Alexander added that he doesn’t think that the Thunder plays at championship level yet and that he believes that everyone will play a little bit better during the playoffs.
