Florida beat Montreal 5-2 at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC.

Matthew Tkachuk had a hat trick for the 5th time in his career and also gave 1 assist in the Florida Panther’s win against Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

The 2nd goal of Tkachuk meant that he was the 4th player in history who would have 100 or more points in consecutive years after signing with a new team in the offseason. The other players in NHL history with that record are Wayne Gretzky, Jimmy Carson, and Mike Rogers.

Anton Lundell finished with 2 goals and an assist as Alex Lyon stopped 18 shots for the 2nd victory in a row for Florida.

For Montreal, Sean Farrell notched for the 1st time ever in his NHL career, as the other goalscorer was Rafael Harvey-Pinard. Goaltender Montembeault saved 25 shots.

Florida will make a trip to face Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, while Montreal will host Carolina Hurricanes on the same day.
