Tyler Toffoli helped his team keep their chances of playing in the playoffs.

Toffoli was the key player in the Calgary Flames‘ victory against San Jose Sharks 5-3 at Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary, AB.

The other goals for the Canadian team notched MacKenzie Weegar, Walker Duehr, and Nazem Kadri. That was only 2nd win for the Flames in their last 9 matches at home. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 28 shots.

Calgary is 4 points behind Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference, and they will need to overcome them if they want to clinch the 2nd wild-card spot.

Couture, Sturm, and Kaut scored the goals for Sharks, but the awful series without victory for the franchise continues as it happens today for the 9th time. Kaapo Kahkonen made 25 saves despite the 5 allowed goals.

San Jose will welcome Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday, while Calgary will host Los Angeles Kings also on Tuesday in their 3rd match at home in a row.
