Tyler Toffoli doesn’t want to play for the Calgary Flames in the upcoming season, and the forward will seek a trade.
The veteran is open-minded about his next franchise and doesn’t have a preferred one at this time, but his biggest wish is just to leave Calgary.
Tyler had the best campaign of his career in the NHL, notching 34 goals and giving 39 assists over 82 matches in his 1st full year with the Flames.
He joined Flames from the Montreal Canadiens in February last year and will play the final year of his 4-year, 17-million-dollar deal, which he inked with the Canadiens in 2020. He earns more than 4 million dollars per year with his current contract.
Toffoli was picked in the 2nd round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He has 227 goals and 239 assists in 733 matches for 11 campaigns in the league as he played for Los Angeles, Montreal, and Calgary.
Further to the reports on Tyler Toffoli, it sounds like the player is looking for a trade out of Calgary. The belief is he’s not approaching the situation with a desired destination and will keep an open mind.
