Tomlin, who has a season left on his deal, has given no indications of wanting to step away in the past few months as he demands just to coach football. Discussions about a new deal could begin during the offseason.
A day after Pittsburgh’s postseason defeat against the Buffalo Bills, DT Cameron Heyward, the longest-tenured team player, voiced his support for the boss.
“I’ll just tell this about our head coach; why are we so concerned with somebody who has a season left on his current deal, has been locked in, and has wanted to just play and coach football?” Heyward claimed.
