German midfielder Toni Kroos shared his expectations for the upcoming European Championship.
“Who will become the European champion? Germany! We can stand up to our opponents. The countdown has already begun, and I want to play these last matches of my career in the same way I played the last matches for Real,” Kroos told Kicker. Euro 2024 will be the last tournament for Kroos, who announced his retirement and already played his last games at club level with Real Madrid, winning the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.
Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14. The hosts are in one group with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland.
During his time with Real Madrid, Kroos won the Champions League four times, La Liga four times, the Spanish Super Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. Before joining Real Madrid, he played for Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Kroos has played 108 matches for the German national team, scoring 17 goals.
