In a thrilling Premier League clash, Tottenham twice rallied from behind, denying Manchester United a victory in front of their newly confirmed co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Attending his first game since the confirmation of his proposed 25% purchase of the club on Christmas Eve, Ratcliffe expressed his excitement about being present. The match saw Rasmus Hojlund give United an early lead in the third minute and despite Brazilian striker Richarlison leveling the score with his sixth goal in as many Premier League games, United took the lead before halftime through Marcus Rashford.

However, Rodrigo Bentancur’s powerful shot, marking his first goal since April after recovering from a knee ligament injury and an ankle problem, equalized the game a minute into the second half.

For Ratcliffe, seated alongside Sir Alex Ferguson in the directors’ box, the remainder of the match served as an insightful experience. United had less than 40% possession, managed nine shots compared to Tottenham’s 16, and only a third of their opponent’s shots were on target.
While the result didn’t propel Tottenham into the top four, it maintained an eight-point lead over their hosts. Manchester United, facing the possibility of dropping to 10th, will next be in action against Wolves on February 1st.
