Postecoglou has had a successful spell at the Scottish side Celtic, leading them to a successive Premiership titles in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
“We are excited to have Ange join us,” said Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our club,”
Postecoglou becomes the first Australian manager in the Premier League and the fourth permanent one at Spurs after Pochettino’s sacking in November 2019.
He faces a difficult task to get back Tottenham at their very best, which is a top 4 finish at the minimum. But the 57-year-old is certainly no stranger when it comes to seemingly impossible tasks, as he was able to lift the title with Celtic in his debut season, when they were trailing the champions by 25 point the previous campaign.
