The 27-year-old will not take part at the World Cup
Kieran Treadwell has been released from Ireland’s World Cup squad and will not take part in the event.
He is among 5 other high-profile names such as Caolin Blade, Gavin Coombes, Calvin Nash and Jamie Osborne, who have been left out.
Ireland’s squad currently consists of 38 players and will be cut own to 33 on August 28.
With Treadwell out of the picture that gives Joe McCarthy a great chance for a place in the final squad.
Ireland continue their World Cup preparation with a game against England at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday. Coach Andy Farrell will announce the squad for the game on Thursday afternoon.
