The newly appointed manager of Bayern Munich Thomas Tuchel has made a bold promise to secure the Treble for the Bavarians in his first season after his unveiling.
Tuchel was appointed Bayern’s head-coach on Friday after the shocking sacking of Julian Nagelsman and it was revealed, furthermore, that the club held talks with him three days before Nagelsman axing.
The ex-Borussia, PSG and Chelsea manager has signed a three-year contract with the 6-time Champions League winners, which expires on June 30 2025.
Speaking in front of the media for the first time Tuchel said:
“It’s an honour and a distinction to be asked by Bayern Munich.”
“I’ve been in very close contact with Bayern before. But back then I couldn’t wait. It would never be appropriate to pressure anyone. Things went very quickly this time, it’s a top solution for me.”
“We don’t really have much time. I probably won’t see the Internationals until Friday. Winning all titles is still possible. Therefore, it will be all about the details. I have an idea of what to do and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s about playing for all titles”
At the International break Bayern trail Dortmund by one point in the Bundesliga title race. They have a difficult task of overcoming a strong Manchester City side in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while in the DFB-Pokal they go against Freiburg in the quarter-final stage.
