The football governing body removed from duty the VAR that gave the penalty to the Parisian club.

The VAR who gave PSG’s scandal added-time penalty vs. the Magpies in the UCL has been removed from duty by UEFA on a match today.

Tomasz Kwiatkowski from Poland sent official Szymon Marciniak to the pitchside monitor in the extra time of yesterday’s clash after the ball hit the arm of Tino Livramento.

The referee on the pitch overturned his decision and gave the penalty to the home side, as Kylian Mbappé scored it, as all depends on Paris Saint-Germain if they will advance from the group stage.

The Polish VAR official was due to act as VAR in today’s clash between Real Sociedad and FC Salzburg, but now he was replaced by Marco Fritz from Germany. It only means that UEFA decided he made a mistake of sending the main referee to the VAR monitor.
