UEFA has started disciplinary proceedings against the Croatian Football Union for racism.
During the European qualification between Croatia and Latvia in Rijeka, a supporter of the home team raised a fascist flag, the local football federation reported.
The latest UEFA investigation could see Croatia ordered to play in an empty stadium when it hosts Turkey in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Oct. 12 in Osijek.

The federation said that it will cooperate with authorities in Rijeka and would consider legal action against the fans who brought the flag in. Croatia leads its Euro 2024 qualifying group with four matches left and is the favorite to advance to the tournament in Germany.
