UFC heavyweight champ Jon Jones has been charged with 2 misdemeanors stemming from an incident with a drug testing agent at the end of March. The UFC champion has been charged with assault and interference with communications.
If convinced, Jon could be up to a year in jail and be fined up to 500 dollars for the assault charge — a petty misdemeanor – and 1000 dollars for the 2nd charge.
The UFC star allegedly took the testing agent’s cell phone, questioned why the agents arrived in the morning, and warned that they don’t know what happens to people who come to my home – they die.
Despite that, the heavyweight champion is training to make his return to the Octagon to defend his title. It is still not confirmed when Jones’s next fight in the UFC will be, but Jon claims he will defend his title vs. ex-champ Stipe Miocic in the Big Apple at Madison Square Garden near the end of the year.
