The UN office has given its support for the 33-year-old player
Jenni Hermoso has received the support of UN Human Rights office over the notorious kiss on the lips by Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales.
The organisation came out with a statement that everyone should take action against sexual harassment and abuse.
“Women in sport continue to face sexual harassment and abuse – every one of us has the responsibility to call out and challenge such abuse,” the UN body wrote.
“We join Spain’s Jenni Hermoso and all those working to end abuse and sexism in sport. Make this a turning point.”
The case might even go to court as Spanish prosecutors have opened a preliminary investigation as to whether it amounts to a crime of sexual assault.
