The Portuguese had a chance to win in the match’s final minutes and grab 2nd place, but Ana Capeta hit the post, and USWNT survived to finish 2nd and advance further in the tournament.
The USA will play against the winner of Group G in Melbourne during the weekend in the round of 16, as almost certainly that will be Sweden, as the Scandinavian nation needs only a point vs. the last place Argentina to finish 1st.
The Netherlands triumphed in the group after destroying 7-0 Vietnam in their 3rd match.
“I’m just not seeing that passion.”
USWNT legend Carli Lloyd didn’t hold back when speaking about what she’s seen from USA in this World Cup.
