Justin Verlander pitched seven innings of two-hit ball for his first victory with the Mets, while Pete Alonso hit his 13th home run for New York 2-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night.
Brandon Nimmo had three hits, including a go-ahead single in the fourth to help the Mets win for just the fourth time in 16 games.
