Max Verstappen continues his dominance at the Austrian Grand Prix weekend and won the Sprint race on Saturday.
On the semi-wet Red Bull Ring, the world champion lost the lead for the first two corners, but afterwards was dominant on the track, finishing in front of his teammate Sergio Perez. Third was Carlos Sainz with Ferrari, while the second car of the Scuderia with Charles Leclerc finished 13th.
The race started in damp conditions with light rain that pushed everyone towards using intermediates.
After the lights went off Sergio Perez started better than Max Verstappen and took the lead into the first corner, but in turn 3 both drivers almost came together and Verstappen got his lead back.
With ten laps to go George Russell took the gamble to put on slick tires and it paid off as he was much quicker than everyone else on the drying circuit and he quickly got to ninth position.
The main race is on Sunday where Verstappen will start from pole in front of Charles Leclerc.
