The Minnesota Vikings dismissed GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah today, an unexpected turn after the franchise’s failure to make the postseason in the current campaign.
Minnesota owners Zygi and Mark Wilf claimed that Rob Brzezinski, the team’s executive vice president of football operations, will run the Vikings’ front office through the 2026 draft, after which a search for a new GM will begin.
It was a very odd time for the firing of the general manager, as Kwesi had given a postseason news conference earlier this month and had spent the past few days in Mobile, Alabama, scouting Senior Bowl practices. It wasn’t even a year since Adofo-Mensah inked a multiyear deal extension.
The Vikings had 3 winning campaigns in their 4-year period as GM, and their .632 winning percentage over that period is even for the 5th best in the league. But Minnesota is 0-2 in the playoffs, and Kwesi’s drafts have been among the NFL’s least productive.
