Carson Wentz’s disappointing run as the Minnesota Vikings’ QB has finished.
Wentz will have a campaign-ending procedure to repair a left shoulder problem he sustained on October 5th while competing in the place of injured starter J.J. McCarthy. Carson has been playing through a dislocated shoulder, but that couldn’t continue.
J.J. is expected to make his return for the Vikings on the upcoming weekend’s match vs. the Lions in Detroit. With Carson put on injury reserve, undrafted rookie Max Brosmer is the only other QB on the team right now.

Free agent Desmond Ridder spent 3 weeks on the team earlier in the current campaign. Brett Rypien, who was the 3rd choice at the QB position in the past season and was waived before the start of the new campaign, is currently on the practice squad of the Colts.
Carson (32) made league history in the current campaign by starting at least 1 match for his 6th different organization in the last 6 years. Minnesota inked him a few weeks before the beginning of the season to serve as J.J.’s reserve after the team traded away Sam Howell, and Wentz replaced him in Week 3 and has played since then, ending his tenure with a 2-3 record.
