Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy will miss his 3rd straight game because of a right high ankle sprain, as he didn’t train with his teammates today.
Minnesota manager Kevin O’Connell decided not to risk his starting quarterback as he was expected to practice today, but in the end, J.J. wasn’t with his teammates on the field in London.

Carson Wentz will be the starter on Sunday, as it was previously decided that he would be in this role even before it became clear that McCarthy could not practice today.
“J.J. got positively through the past few days,” the Vikings head coach shared of his starting quarterback. “However, with the weather today I decided that it would a big risk for him to practice and we didn’t want to risk any further injury. That’s why I will give him some more time and see next week if his injury is behind him. We have bye week after that and the smart decision is for us to wait for him.”
After the game against Cleveland, Minnesota’s next match will be on October 19th vs. the Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium.
