Villarreal revealed that they thought about flying supporters to Miami for free for their league game vs. Barcelona. All the fans who want to attend the match that will take place in Florida will travel for free.
The CEO of the Spanish team claimed that the clash is “about image and the future, not business,” as UEFA approved Spain’s 1st-ever domestic game played outside the country.
Roig Negueroles shared that the upcoming match between his team and Barcelona in Miami will not be about money, as his team will not receive anything extra from the clash. That will be the 1st ever European game to be held in a different country as UEFA decided to approve it after opposing it in the past.
“I see this match as a way for LaLiga to open up to other countries and different markets, which is very positive for all of the teams that compete in it. We will not get any money from the match in the USA as a club, as we will spend it on our season ticket holders. The clash with Barcelona in Miami will be about image and future,” shared the CEO of Villarreal.
