Vini Jr. to miss extended period with thigh injury

The Real Madrid superstar is not expected to join up with Brazil for the September fixtures as the injury that he suffered in the 1^st half vs. Celta Vigo will sideline him for longer than expected.

The Brazil international was substituted in the 18^th minute in the Royal club 1-0 win on Friday with a thigh pain.

Vinicius Junior is not expected to join up with Brazil for the September international break as the injury that he sustained against Celta Vigo is expected to sideline him for longer than initially expected.

Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared after the end of the game that the Brazilian will most likely miss the next La Liga game vs. Getafe but thought that he will have him back in the squad after the international break.

Vinicius will have a scan today, as the expectations are that he would be able to play again not less than 30 days. He can miss his team next games vs. Getafe, Real Sociedad and Atlético de Madrid in the league, as well as Real Madrid’s Champions League opener.
