Victor Wembanyama debuted at the summer league as all eyes were on him on Friday night.
The 1st overall pick at the 2023 NBA Draft played vs. the Charlotte Hornets, and the 2nd overall pick, Brandon Miller and Spurs, won 76-68 in front of a fully sold venue at the Thomas & Mack Center.

“It was a magical night,” the French 1st overall pick shared after his debut in a fully crowded news conference room. “It was an honor to wear the Spurs jersey for the 1st time. It’s a privilege.
“Overall, I’m happy that we triumphed in the match. That’s the best way to begin your journey. Honestly, I didn’t really know what I was playing in my debut. I’m trying to learn for my next match.”
Wembanyama also added that he has so much to learn and that this was the 1st time he was on the court with his new teammates.
