The French shook the NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s hand as he was presented to the world at the Barclays Center in the Big Apple.
Later, Wembanyama even cried when he gave an interview to ESPN a few minutes after he became a San Antonio Spurs player.
“I’ve been waiting my whole life for this,” he shared.
“Hearing that sentence from Adam Silver, I’ve dreamed of it so much.”

The expectations for Wembanyama are among the highest in the recent era in the National Basketball League. When Spurs landed the 1st overall pick, even the franchise managing partner Peter J. Holt couldn’t hide his excitement as he leaped while still in his seat.
“It’s going to be fantastic,” Peter claimed that night. “Our future was already bright. Now this will take us to a new orbit.”
