Victor Wembanyama will not be on the court again during the summer league as his franchise decided to sit him for the rest of the tournament.
The 1st overall pick at the recent NBA draft, who notched 27 points and had 12 boards in his 2nd game in the summer league in the defeat vs. the Portland Trail Blazers, shared after the clash that he will talk with his manager in San Antonio Gregg Popovich and the 2 will decide if he will play anymore.

All along, two games was the plan. Spurs wanted him to get a taste of the NBA, and he got it. Team saw what it wanted to see, now giving him a break after a busy 12 months.

“I know I have to discuss with the head coach,” the French answered Sunday when asked whether he will participate in more matches in Vegas. “I’m going to listen to what Pop’s going to say, but I’m willing to sacrifice for the franchise and give my all.”
He also shared that he will make a plan with the Spurs about what he needs to do in the upcoming months to be at 100% for his rookie campaign.
