Vancouver Whitecaps striker Sergio Cordova has been ruled out of play for the next 6-8 weeks as he recovers from a right hamstring strain, the team announced on Tuesday.
The injury was picked in Whitecaps 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy during the weekend.
Cordova is set to miss up to 12 games in the upcoming month, including the crucial Concacaf Champions League games against LAFC and April 5 and April 11. The 25-year old striker may also miss the start of the Canadian Championship in early May.
Cordova was signed from Bundesliga team FC Augsburg and still awaits his first goal for his new club, having already 4 appearances to his name. In the 2022 season, playing on loan for Real Salt Lake he managed to score 9 goals and made 2 assist in over 33 apperances.
