Toto Wolff has shared his full belief that Lewis Hamilton is still capable of winning the World Championship if presented with the right car.
Hamilton has struggled with the Mercedes package last two seasons with the Brit finishing winless in both campaigns.
Many have questioned whether the 38-year-old still has what it takes and if he is still motivated after difficult times.
Wolff responded to that stating that the ‘real Hamilton’ is still there, but just needs the right car to land his record-breaking 8th world title.
“If we’re able to give him a car, then he would be fighting for a World Championship, I have no doubt. It’s clear that when you have a Formula 1 car like we have now, you’re never at ease with it – you have good weekends and bad weekends.” Wolff said.
“In the end, every time where we’ve seen that Lewis has someone in his target in front of him, and it was about winning the race, then the real Lewis comes alive, and I think we just need to give him that [opportunity].”
