Xavi (44) revealed in April that he would keep his current position, fulfilling his deal, which runs until 2025, despite sharing in the past that he will leave Barcelona in the summer.
However, the Spaniard head coach shared with the media a few days ago that the financial difficulties that are hindering the Catalan’s team attempts to compete and win titles have created a conflict with president Joan Laporta.
The official version from the team is that everything remains the same, but there are rumors that Xavi’s firing after the end of the campaign could happen as the president doesn’t fully believe in the manager.
“Barca conveys calmness in me,” the head coach shared with the media ahead of Barcelona’s final home match of the campaign vs. Rayo Vallecano.
