Arteta shares touchline ban changed his behavior

Arsenal’s head coach has shared he thinks his suspension vs. Aston Villa at the end of last year may have triggered a change in how he behaves now at the touchline.

The North London side manager was forced to watch from the stands after getting 3 yellow cards at the beginning of the campaign as John McGinn notched the winning goal at Villa Park.

Referees were instructed at the start of the season by their boss, Howard Webb, to clamp down on dissent and aggressive behavior by the officials, and only 2 EPL head coaches have avoided any sort of suspension since – Luton Town head coach Rob Edwards and Oliver Glasner, who led the Eagles two months ago.

Mikel was booked for a 4^th time vs. the Seagulls in December and in the Gunners’ UCL 1/8 finals match vs. Porto.

Arteta admitted that he learned from his experience watching his team from the stands and changed his behavior as the season progressed.
