Surprisingly or not, the American won the 1st set 7-5 as Paul converted 2 breaks as the 2nd one was the crucial for winning the set and avoiding a tiebreak. However, after that, Alcaraz showed that he is the better tennis player and won the next 3 sets as he didn’t give any chance to Tommy in them – 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2.
“Paul has been playing great tennis on grass, he triumphed at Queen’s in Jue, he has been playing stable on this Grand Slam, eliminating strong players. I had to play at my highest level to win the match today,” shared Alcaraz after the victory against Paul.
