Ruben Amorim claimed Manchester United are ready to enter the winter transfer market but only if the “perfect” footballer can be bought. The team from Old Trafford continues to be linked with a central midfielder, but the manager of the Red Devils has suggested the team is even ready to buy a player in another position, if it is for the long term.
Man United want to ink a new defensive midfielder ahead of the January transfer window in 2026. Potential targets are Al-Hilal’s Ruben Neves, Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher, and Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams.
The Red Devils did everything possible to sign the Seagulls midfielder Carlos Baleba in the past summer, but the transfer failed after Brighton demanded 100 million pounds for their star.
“The only footballers that we would think to buy in January or in the summer – are these that would fit in our future,” shared Manchester United head coach before the match against Aston Villa.
Amorim added that they would not sign any player to replace the 3 footballers who will be part of the AFCON.
🚨 Amorim on Mainoo: “I’m not trying to say: Kobbie, you are a BIG player here, let’s put you on the bench to show something…
…it’s the OPPOSITE. Maybe he plays the next one, does well, he’s going to show everyone this guy cannot take me out the team. And I’ll be so happy!”. pic.twitter.com/pzU0nSoWN0
