Argentina eliminates Ecuador from Copa America after penalties

Messi missed a penalty, but despite that, his team won.

Argentina won against Ecuador after a shootout at NRG Stadium in Texas and advanced to the ½ finals of the Copa America.

Lisandro Martinez scored the 1st goal in the match in the 35th minute after Alexis Mac Allister’s assist to give Argentina the lead in the match. Ecuador had a golden chance to tie the result in the 62nd minute, but Enner Valencia missed a penalty. However, the drama was full, and Kevin Rodriguez scored in the extra time in the 92nd minute after John Yeboah’s assistance tied the result and forced penalties.

In this edition of Copa America, if the result is even after the regular time, the winner is determined directly after a shootout.
