Mikel Arteta’s side has submitted an appeal to have Myles Lewis-Skelly’s controversial red card overturned.
The defender received a red card during his team’s 1-0 victory vs. Wolverhampton in the past weekend.
Myles was sent off for catching Matt Doherty above the ankle with a late tackle to break up a counter-attack just outside the home-side box near the end of the 1st half.
Michael Oliver was not called by the VAR Darren England to review his decision.

The Gunners defender is set to not be able to play in his side’s next 3 matches – EPL clash vs. Man City at Etihad at the end of the weekend, next week’s Carabao Cup ½ final 2nd leg away from home against Newcastle, and a Premier League clash vs. Leicester in the middle of the next month.
After the clash vs. Wolves, Mikel Arteta shared that, according to him, Oliver made a mistake and that he doesn’t want to talk more about the situation because he is very mad.
Lewis-Skelly’s sent-off was also criticized by ex-officials and pundits.
PGMOL revealed police are investigating “threats and abuse” directed at the referee after the match.
